The Inerrancy of Scripture

BibleThe original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic Bible is perfect communication without error. 1 Timothy 3:16 states that all scripture is God-breathed. And 2 Peter 1:21 states the word of God does not come from the will of men or the flesh but holy men who the Holy Spirit moved.

Inerrancy of scripture does not mean that every word is good and true as God defines good and true. The Bible often quotes Satan and evil men in the scriptures, and we know Satan is the father of lies. God intends to show us the contrast between the good and the evil, the true and the false. Even though the authors of the Old and New Testaments were fallible in life, God collected the infallible words into what we call the Old and New Testaments. These testaments are without error in the original language.

Our translations are not perfect as the original Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic scrolls. Therefore, we have many translations. Later this year we will go over some of the issues scholars and theologians have with translations. A few translations are close to being accurate and remember Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would lead us into all truth. So, we are not left to our own understanding.

I present to you the top ten selling Bibles in the world. I am not sure how God would rank them or unrank a few of them, but this is what the world, including Christians, are buying, and reading. This is a statement and not a full teaching of the inerrancy of scripture.
